The Homestead

Homestead Studio and Gallery inhabits a late 1800s farmhouse situated on an even older working farmstead. It is located south of Dubuque, Iowa, and 5 miles north of Bellevue. Breathtaking views of the Mississippi River Valley await our visitors, as well as regionally made artwork, fine handicrafts and antiques. Homestead is also the working studio of Theresa Ganzer Blitgen who exhibits her drawings, paintings and sculptures there year-round and opens regularly on the first weekend of each month to the pubic in conjunction with the tri-state Scienic Arts Loop. Otherwise, guests may visit by chance (look for our sign) or by appointment (our contact info is on the bottom of each page).

What makes Homestead Gallery so unique?

The old farm house, where it makes it’s home, is also a work of art! Visitors will be able to enjoy the folk art painted wood floors found on our second level which were created by one of the original inhabitants here, Miss Rose Deusing. Homestead Studio & Gallery is committed to honoring & fostering the creation of art in any form, old & new.
